Lucille Women's Edwardian Oxfords (Black/Burgundy)

I am a UK size 5 1/2 wide but tend to wear a UK size 6 and purchased a US size 8 and they fit perfectly. These shoes are so comfortable even the first time you wear them. I can wear these to work comfortably including 2 miles of walking and wearing them all day. I had been wanting to get a pair of American duchess shoes for about a year and I am so glad I finally did. The delivery to the UK from the EU website was super quick. They come with a spare set of ribbon laces and a spare pair of heal caps. I also purchased a set of green ribbon laces which look great. The construction is beautiful and they feel like shoes that are made to last a long time.

When I first found AD, I knew I needed Oxfords and specifically black ones to go with my witchy looks! The pre-order opened for these and I jumped on them! So I have actually been wearing these for quite a while now! And they are just perfect. They go with everything, the velvet parts subtly pop and add character, they have gradually softened to my feet... I'm so in love with them! Because I don't wear them super regularly, they still have some more breaking in to do, but I plan to help that along with the shoe stretch spray! My feet are right at the 10 inch line between 9 and 9.5, so I went with 9.5. I also have TECHNICALLY regular B width feet, but they are also right at the line between regular and needing a letter width up, so finding perfectly comfortable shoes for me is always an ordeal lol. My big toe is the longest of the bunch, if that also helps. So while my toes do feel a bit crowded sometimes, I think these are the correct size and just need a little stretch in the toe box. If I went with a 10, the rest of the shoe would be too loose on my feet! All this just to help anyone who might also have my annoying feet :) Anyway, I love these and can't wait to own some more AD shoes!

Overall: Totally happy with the Lucille’s in black.
Details: These are gorgeous, stylish and well-made shoes. The black leather contrasts nicely with the black velveteen and satin laces, and makes them more interesting than other similar all-black shoes.
Sizing and Comfort: I bought size 9 and am a true 9B. The length is true to size, but they definitely run tight across the width at the toes and ball of the foot – something I suspect will resolve itself with wear as the leather stretches. If you have any concerns about sizing consider going up a half-size, (you can always pad them out with inserts if they stretch too much), but – unless you have really wide feet – I suspect a full size up would end up being too big after some wear. Once they’re worn in, I think the Lucille’s will be very wearable, as the heel height and placement is very comfortable and they are supportive and easy to walk in, (although there isn’t a lot of padding in the soles, so IDK how they’d go if you were on your feet all day?!)
Customer Service/Delivery: Excellent delivery, very quick from US to Australia via DHL, (within a week). Packaging good. AD included a spare set of heel stops and an extra pair of black laces, which are appreciated.
Conclusion: 5 stars. If you are on the fence – just buy them, because I really don’t see how anyone could be disappointed with these shoes.
