A bit tight..but otherwise very nice!

Beautiful, deep green colour. They look very cute and can be worn with historical AND modern outfits.

However, mind the sizing! My feet are 24cm, so I ordered a size 8. However, the shoes are pretty tight around the toes AND instep. My feet are not considered wide. Unfortunately they are now non-returnable, so hopefully they'll stretch over time, as can happen with leather.

We do recommend that folks not rely on measuring their feet, as it is difficult to get an accurate measurement of such complex, 3D objects as feet - instead, we recommend you order your regular size in standard-width (or wide width, if ordering from the Wide Collection) heels or women's dress shoes, as we've found that this generally provides better results than attempting to measure your feet. You can use our size chart here to convert from your regular size in EU and UK sizing to the US sizing: https://americanduchess.eu/pages/fitting-shoes-and-shoe-size-charts

Please email our customer service team at info@americanduchess.com if you have questions regarding stretching, they're here to help!

I love my Berties so much! I really love all my AD shoes, but these might be my favorite purchase so far, because I've been using them as an every day shoe. Essentially I started wearing them the day I opened the box and wore them all summer long, most of the autumn, and even a few days during the winter. My other AD shoes I use mainly for historical costuming or history bounding, but these Berties are so practical in their style that I can use them with my modern clothes, as well. Another thing; because of the soft leather linings, one really doesn't need to fret about foot odor. (Which is more likely to happen when shoes are lined in plastic.) Oh, and they are very comfortable! I really love them. Bravo to American Duchess!

These shoes fit perfectly for me (9.5). They're a great addition to my wardrobe that I will love for years and year to come. I'm so excited to have a high quality pair of classic black flats and to graduate from cheap shoes that wear out after only a season.
