Claire 1940s Oxfords (Black)
Description
Why sacrifice your vintage style for practicality when you can have both with a great pair of common sense oxfords? A good, solid oxford is a real asset to any vintage fashion enthusiast. Our Claire 1940s Oxfords meet all the requirements of a sensible shoe while also being stylish and unique.
Claire 1940s Oxfords are direct reproductions of an original CC41 compliant "Academy Girl" brand shoe. They meet all the requirements for most military unit dress shoes and are similar in design and decoration to original styles sold as military dress shoes by historic brands such as Red Cross and Lotus.
Claires are constructed of a black calf leather upper, lined in brown pigskin leather, with leather soling and a 1.6 in / 4 cm stacked-look heel, just like the original.

Since these arrived, I've been wearing them nearly every day. Once broken in, they've been very comfortable. Love the look of them as well. They can be dressed up or down, too.
Amazing shoes, they look great, feel great, are high quality and a joy to walk on
Love them
A while ago, I bought my first pair of American Duchess Claire 1940s Oxfords, and I'm very happy with them! They're extremely comfortable and look absolutely gorgeous, too! I highly recommend them!
I love my Claire's! I bought them in brown and black, and they are my everyday shoes in autumn and spring. They are extremely comfortable, the leather is soft and supple. I wore them for entire days right out of the box without any rubbing. Also very comfortable for long train travels. After a few days they are molded exactly to my feet, so they become truly individual. For a EU size 36 the US size 5,5 is perfect. As they heel is quite high for an Oxford they look very lovely with skirts in a 40's, early 50's style. But of course they are also beautiful with trousers. They make me remember my sweet Granny everytime I wear them. The colour brown is even nicer in real life - with a rosewood tinge, that will look lovely in the sun of spring.
