Description

Indulge in a piece of history with Flora Embroidered Boots, an exclusive reproduction of the intricate opera and evening boots popular in the late Victorian period. Expertly crafted with intricate botanical detailing, these stunning satin boots will take you back to an era of sophistication and finesse. Wear them with bustle and Belle Epoque attire from the 1870s to c. 1900, or with modern dress as a statement piece.

The Flora Boots are designed in collaboration with the Bata Shoe Museum. Every pair of shoes from the In Bloom collection benefits and supports The Bata Shoe Museum in their study, outreach, and conservation of historic footwear.

As a lace-up boot, Floras are very adjustable for a wide variety of ankle, calf, and instep measurements. The top of the Flora boots does not extend to the widest part of the calf muscle. Measurements scale a little based on size.

These measurements based on size 7.5:
Ankle range - 9 to 13 inches / 22.8 cm to 33 cm
Shaft height - 7.8 inches / 20 cm
Boot top range - 9.4 to 13.4 inches / 24 to 34 cm
Tongue width - 4.5 inches / 11.5 cm

Though the antiques were made in silk, our boots are made in a durable and cleanable polyester satin, the ideal choice for footwear built to last. Spritz your shoes with Shoe Brush and Polishing Cloth to keep them in good condition and looking swell.

Beautiful!

Marvelous boots that fits really snuggly but not uncomfortably so. They look and feel wonderful, I'm just a bit worried about the soles since they look a bit soft and fragile.
I ordered a size up

We're glad you like them! We have a page on how to care for and maintain leather soles here: https://americanduchess.eu/pages/how-to-care-for-leather-soles

While leather soles are historically accurate, resoleable, and have many benefits over synthetic ones, some folks prefer having a half or full rubber sole put on over the leather sole by a cobbler to have the best of both worlds.

Fabulous!

I adore my Flora boots! They are so comfortable - which is unusual for me with new boots. I am a UK size 5.5 and I ordered the 8.5 which were perfect . I will definitely be buying more as these are amazing shoes and boots ❤️.

Absolutely gorgeous

I got the Flora boots in lavender and absolutely love them. These are the kind of shoes I dreamed about when watching period dramas on tv. And now I own a pair of those intricately embroidered boots myself!
My larger calves and high instep do require that I unlace them more than halfway, so they aren’t put on fast (theatre quick change wise (I do lots of musical theatre) that’s not handy) and I need to skip two grommets to make the laces reach to the top. But there are a lot of grommets so I feel it isn’t that noticeable. And even with my high instep and big calves these boots are very comfortable (no pressure on the upper side of my foot at all) and the particular Victorian shape holds up beautifully.
Thank you so much for making these American Duchess!

I absolutely love them. They're very comfortable from the first moment I put them on and incredibly beautiful.
